This post serves as my working bibliography for the series I am writing on Christian nudism, Christian naturism, and a number of closely related theological, historical, pastoral, and artistic questions. Whenever I work through a larger series like this, I prefer to keep the bibliography in a separate post rather than attach long and repetitive reference lists to every individual article. That makes each post easier to read, gives readers one central place to consult the source material, and allows me to expand the research trail without cluttering every entry in the series.

This also means the bibliography is not frozen. It is a working document. As I continue the series, revisit older questions, or come across additional books, articles, papers, websites, and primary sources worth considering, I will update this post. In that sense, this bibliography is both a record of the research behind the series and a living resource for readers who want to explore the subject more deeply for themselves.

The materials gathered here relate not only to Christian naturism directly, but also to surrounding topics that must be handled alongside it if the discussion is to be serious. That includes church history, Adamites, baptism, asceticism, body theology, shame, modesty, pornography, Christian art, the dignity of the human person, and the broader theological meaning of embodiment. Some of these sources are academic. Some are pastoral. Some are insider voices from within Christian naturist conversations. Some are critical or cautionary. Together they help map the terrain.

For the purposes of this series, my use of the word Christian is broad in the sense C. S. Lewis described as mere Christianity, referring to the main historic streams of Protestant, Catholic, and Orthodox faith. That still leaves a great deal of variation, disagreement, and diversity within the tradition, so readers should not expect one uniform view on every issue addressed here.

Please check back for updates, since I expect this list to grow as the series develops. And if you know of books, articles, websites, blog posts, primary sources, or other resources I should consider, feel free to share them in the comments. Thoughtful recommendations are always welcome.
